It's best because Moore is in real peril on several occasions, the villains are truly nasty and dangerous (Gothard!), and Moore gets to respond in kind (Gothard!).

Had the chance to see this at MoMA a few weeks ago, preceded a night earlier by SWLM. The crowd was into both of them and laughed and cheered at all the right moments (I particularly liked the applause when the villainous blonde Olympian met his death at the end of FYEO).

Agreed about Gothard...such an effectively creepy presence he has here.

It's too bad that Moore didn't end things here, which was the plan at one time.

I love Conti's score as well, one of my favorites from the series, probably my favorite non-Barry score; the title song is sublime and also one of the songs I remember most fondly from my childhood.Ned Merrillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15436251586131278302noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2118574901486983093.post-47723543401017007252008-11-26T20:10:00.000-08:002008-11-26T20:10:00.000-08:00Michael--Thanks very much for that, it really is a...Michael--

Thanks very much for that, it really is appreciated!
