Hopefully whoever I'm out with will get the joke. Glad to hear that you're such a fan of both these films, thanks very much!

PeterMr. Peel aka Peter Avellinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10553482286909862975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2118574901486983093.post-9145988419602644822008-12-06T11:02:00.000-08:002008-12-06T11:02:00.000-08:00"Broadway Danny Rose" is, without any re..."Broadway Danny Rose" is, without any reservations, one of Woody Allen's best, funniest, and most touching films. I love it. Every once in awhile, with friends, and we pull $$$ to pay for dinner or something inevitably one of us will wave it around and declare, "You see this? It means nothing to me" & act like we are ripping it up. "Where are we in North Vietnam!?!?!" And that ending, wow.
Also, add me onto the list who think "Whodunit" is the SECOND best Abbott & Costello film (after "Meet Frankenstein", natch.) There's some priceless stuff there and the fast-talking Kid outsmarting Costello slays me every time.

- BobAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2118574901486983093.post-68814904270943351702008-11-30T22:46:00.000-08:002008-11-30T22:46:00.000-08:00Great to know that somebody else out there was wat...Great to know that somebody else out there was watching it and showing it to others as well. I laugh at a bunch of the jokes that I know are coming as well. It's a very funny, sweet film and I'm glad I reacquainted myself with it.Mr. Peel aka Peter Avellinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10553482286909862975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2118574901486983093.post-22540500240775088272008-11-29T21:37:00.000-08:002008-11-29T21:37:00.000-08:00This film was my very own Thanksgiving Eve screeni...This film was my very own Thanksgiving Eve screening, Mr. Peel. I have watched Broadway Danny Rose the night before Thanksgiving for the last 4 years. This time I invited friends over to watch. It never fails to make me laugh, even at the same jokes I eagerly anticipate. It's many themes hit me in different ways each time I view it. This time I really thought of those we care about and aid along the way who will separate from our social sphere once they have evolved in some many for their better. It's one of my favorite Woody films.

An aside - Woody was nominated for Best Director and screenplay for this film.Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10423356407811648416noreply@blogger.com
